ODBST Trust Schools fundraising
A number of schools across the Oxford Diocesan Bucks Schools Trust have taken part in fundraising activities last week.
St Johns CofE School, Lacey Green, wore yellow and blue on Wednesday as they spent the day reflecting and turned their thoughts to all those who have been forced to leave their homes due to conflict. The pupils donated to First News Ukraine Schools Appeal. The money that First News raise will be going to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine appeal, and will help to supply urgent food, hygiene supplies and medical care to refugees and those trapped by the conflict.
Two students at Christ the Sower Ecumenical School were selling loom bands that they hand made and have donated the proceeds to the Ukraine appeal. The school also took part in wearing blue and yellow with monies being donated to the DEC. Chesham Bois CofE School also held a mufti day, encouraging the children to wear an outfit or colour that they were thankful for. Parents were encouraged to make a donation directly to Unicef to help the school raise awareness and the local community to support the cause.
Longwick CofE Combined School have held a collection at school of vital supplies to go out to Ukraine to the families who have had to flee their homes with nothing. The response to the appeal was incredible, with enough toiletries, clothes, blankets, nappies etc. collected in 2 days to fill a mini bus.
